Deep Wound ( how does it work )
Hello all,
Can someone explain me how the condition deep wound works. Wiki says it takes of 20% of your health bar. But when using a skill with deep wound it does not take again 20% will it take 20% of 20% of just reapply? even if you would use only this skill, can you bring the enemie down? Thank you in advance, Gr Portia |

just reapply, you cant stack deep wounds. this condition helps when bringing down monsters, think about this you attack a monster with 100% health you manage to bring it down to 30% now if you also apply a deep wound you only have to hit for 10% more until their dead. if you didnt have DW youll have to hit for the whole 30%. Also in most PvP spikes DW is used to finish off enemies, both in spikes and pressure.

Deep wound is very effective as it stops healing full. Imagin you are just about to kill a peep in Random areans and then a monk throws in a WoH to save him. With a deepwound he wont be fully healed unless the monk removes the wound. so in that sense it uses up at least 10 of the monks energy.
You can not stack deep wounds. |

As the two above said, think of it as your attacking an enemy, and because you've used Deep Wound, you've now got statistically a 20% better chance of killing the enemy, so Deep Wound is most certainly a necessity to carry around if you can!

If there was no DW in GW, Warriors would prolly lose popularity, as a DW skill can be concidered a +100 damage skill. Eviscerate at 14 Axe Mastery doesn't give you +29 damage, it gives you +129 damage. (I'm always assuming DW will do the full 100 -max- damage). Offcorse, it also reduces healing -by 20%-, something alot of people seem to not know, but this is usually a minor effect, as when the target gets healed after the DW, he'll usually survive anyways, regardless of the -20% healing. Logically, at the end of the DW, the character gets a "free" 100 heal... |

And no, you can't kill someone by using a Deep Wound skill, unless the damage from the skill would have killed them anyway. Using Eviscerate on someone with 50 hp may well kill them, using it on someone with 150 hp will not. Instead, they'll be reduced to 1 hp by the deep wound. The only skill that applies deep wound before damage, and can therefore kill with deep wound's "damage", is the PvE-only skill "Finish Him!"
